Lionfish are incredibly beautiful and I have loved them for years. However, they are also deadly.
Their drifting fragile fins are supported by poisonous spines. They are invasive and detrimental to small and juvenile fish species.
On the plus side they taste delicious and one suggested control measure is to cull them and eat them.
