This stunning field of tulips tells us a story beyond its beauty. In the winter of 1944 Dutch families survived starvation by eating tulip bulbs. Never preparing fields for spring. For me, a blossoming field of tulips will always remind me of my dad, who lived to tell me the story of how the hidden power of this flower sustained his life.
