Art Exhibition Highlights – Airlie Beach Race Week


The Art Exhibition held during Airlie Beach Race Week from 8th–14th August was a resounding success, celebrating the creativity and talent of the Whitsundays region.


  • Location: Whitsunday Sailing Club

  • Attendance: Over 700 visitors

  • Artists Featured: 39 local artists

  • Artworks Displayed: 112 stunning pieces, ranging from paintings and sculptures to intricate jewellery.


A major highlight was the "People’s Choice Award", which invited attendees to vote for their favourite artwork. This year’s winner was Brigitte Peel for her remarkable piece, Arrhythmia. The award was proudly sponsored by Tassal Group Whitsunday, who played an essential role in supporting the event.


Visitor Feedback


Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with visitors commending the diversity and quality of the artwork on display. Here are just a few comments from the Exhibition’s visitor book:

Visitors ranged from locals to interstate and international guests, with 85% from Queensland and 15% from across Australia and overseas, showcasing the wide appeal of the event.

The Exhibition was well-promoted through various channels:

  • Featured in the *Whitsunday Life* newspaper, both digital and print editions.

  • Promoted via flyers distributed across the region, newsletters to over 800 contacts, and engaging social media posts.


This celebration of art and community has become a cherished highlight of the Whitsundays’ cultural calendar, bringing together artists, locals, and visitors to share in the joy of creativity.
