Judge: Margaret Burgess

Creativity is at the heart of Margaret Burgess’s life. Deeply inspired by nature, she embraces every moment with passion. Most days, she can be found in her Bloomsbury-based studio, surrounded by recycled plastics, found objects, wire, easels, paint, brushes, and canvases—the tools of her trade.
Diversity drives Margaret’s artistic practice. An award-winning painter, she is also a highly experienced tutor, concept developer, and project manager. She has led the Plastic Boutique projects, served as the lead artist for the Immerse Installation at the Great Barrier Reef Festival, and created The Sanctuary Installation for the St Lawrence Wetland Festival. As the founder of Artists Connect Inc., she has played a key role in establishing Art Trails across three regions.
With a full and dynamic creative career, Margaret thrives on the energy of her work and the impact it has on the community.
