There are 2 types of seahorses found on the Great Barrier Reef, the Common and the Pygmy Seahorse. This sculpture is an artist’s impression of a seahorse. Seahorses symbolize good luck, magic, masculinity, strength, persistence, and peace. They are the only creature in which the male gives birth. The females deposit the fertilised eggs into a special pouch in the male’s abdomen and the male then incubates and gives birth to fully formed miniature seahorses. Truly remarkable!
