Driftwood is found floating above the water or on the beach. Corals, marine animals and plants are discovered below the surface. Techniques I have used to create this marine life are knotting, weaving, dyeing, painting and needlework. Different shades of blue, neutrals and white colour the variety of marine life. The shades of blue on some corals have been achieved by painting or dyeing. To create the desired appearance of the diverse nature of marine life, numerous different knotting styles have been employed, using cords of varying sizes, textures, ply and colour. Every piece of the marine life in this work is unique.
