Scarlett's Playground

Scarlett’s underwater world is one of immense beauty and diversity, one she shares with a myriad of lifeforms. Scarlett is a Day Octopus and being a creature of incredible intelligence, she moves through her landscape with elegance, shape shifting and camouflage. In this painting, Scarlett wears one of her many disguises, mimicking the nearby cauliflower coral, as she pursues her favourite snack, a crab. A healthy reef is a palette of vibrant colours and abundant life, so therefore this painting incorporates many different corals and tropical fish, not necessarily authentic, but in my work, my world, and Scarlett’s world, anything is possible. Nature is beautiful – lets protect it.
