Calling CCW Artists! Help Bring Christmas to Our Shopfronts!

We're looking for CCW artists to help spread some Christmas cheer across the Whitsundays!

Creative Connections Whitsunday has been invited to participate in a Christmas shopfront decorating project, a collaboration with the Whitsunday Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The idea is simple. Local artists will create festive Christmas designs, painted directly onto the glass windows of participating businesses in Airlie Beach, Cannonvale and Proserpine, helping bring our town centres to life in the lead-up to Christmas.

The decorated businesses will also take part in the annual Whitsunday Regional Council Christmas Shopfront Competition.

What's involved?

• Painting a simple, festive Christmas design directly onto shopfront glass using acrylic-based paints.

• Designs will be relatively straightforward, so you don't need to be an experienced mural artist.

• Artists will be matched with participating businesses, with the Whitsundays Chamber coordinating the project.

• Shopfronts will be painted Monday 30 November to Sunday 6 December.

• Whitsundays Chamber will supply paint materials

• The stores are responsible for removing the artwork after Christmas

Artists will be paid for their work!

Participating artists will be paid a fixed fee of $139 per shopfront.

This is a great opportunity to earn some extra money from your creative skills, showcase your artwork in the community and help make our towns look festive for Christmas.

Interested?

We're calling for expressions of interest from CCW members who would like to be involved. At this stage, we're simply looking to gauge interest and see how many artists might be available.

If you'd like to participate, please complete our Expression of Interest form by Sunday 1 November and let us know which area you'd prefer to work in: Airlie Beach, Cannonvale or Proserpine.

You don't need to be a professional artist, just have a creative flair, a steady hand and a little Christmas spirit!

We'd love to see CCW artists helping to bring some colour and creativity to our local shopfronts this Christmas.
