There’s a lot happening behind the scenes… and it’s starting to feel very real.
The gallery is currently being prepared, with the fit-out nearly complete and the space already looking fantastic. It’s quickly taking shape as a welcoming community hub for creativity, with plans underway for a mural on the front façade to bring even more life to the space.
A Huge Step Forward
Our working bee on 22 March was a massive success.
Together, our volunteers achieved:
6 flat packs assembled
7 plinths painted
42m² of garden cleared
3 trailer loads of mulch removed
4 tip runs
11 volunteers
24 sausages enjoyed!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy: Mae Rethers, Gemma Louise & Frank Pap, Glenda & Rick Brown, Avril and Tony Ayling, Gingie Johnson, Jacqui Taylor, Brian & Linda Forrester.
Everyone had lots of fun and bellies were filled too with Gemma and Frank's sausage sizzle.
Momentum Continues
Since then, the progress hasn’t slowed.
The veranda has been pressure washed, furniture is arriving and being assembled, and Starlink is ready to be set up. Behind the scenes, we’re refining sales systems and developing an affordable rental model that supports both the gallery and our artists.
We’re also grateful to Sunbird Electrical, who will soon install new veranda lighting as part of their generous support.
Come and Explore the Gallery
We’ll soon be hosting an Open Day for Exhibiting Artists where you can step inside, explore the space, and see how the gallery will work for you.
Date: Tuesday, 21 April
Open between: 10am - 3pm
Come along, ask questions, and get a feel for the gallery space.
Looking Ahead
As we move closer to opening, we’re looking for people who would like to be part of the journey. There are many small roles that are essential in helping the gallery run smoothly and sustainably, and they offer a meaningful way to be part of something that is growing and evolving. If you would like to help, please reach out.
If you’ve been thinking about getting involved—whether as an artist, a volunteer, or a supporter—now is the perfect time.
A warm thank you to Louise Mahony, who has stepped into the financial role for the gallery, easing the potential load on Jacqui and strengthening the team moving forward.
We’re working towards opening the doors in late May or early June
It is great to see so may Artists already Registered:
