The 'Trudio' Comes to Bendigo Community Bank's Community Creative Space

Visitors to the Bendigo Community Bank Cannonvale–Proserpine branch can now enjoy a fresh exhibition by Whitsundays artist Trudy Hastings, the latest featured artist in Creative Connections Whitsundays' Community Creative Space.

Located within the branch at Whitsunday Plaza, the Community Creative Space transforms an everyday community setting into a welcoming gallery, providing local artists with the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work while making creativity more accessible across the Whitsundays.

This rotating exhibition program, delivered in partnership with Bendigo Community Bank, showcases both emerging and established Creative Connections Whitsundays members, with a new artist featured every six weeks.

Working from her lovingly named "Trudio," Trudy draws inspiration from her life experiences, the people and places around her, and her rich inner world. Her contemporary artworks encourage positivity and reflection, inviting viewers to see the world through a lens of curiosity, optimism, and imagination.

Although Trudy often begins each artwork with a vision of the finished piece, she embraces the unexpected turns that make every creative journey unique.

Creative Connections Whitsundays President Glenda Brown said the Community Creative Space is creating valuable new opportunities for artists while bringing art into everyday community life.

All artworks are available for purchase through a simple self-serve process, allowing visitors to browse the exhibition and directly support local artists.

The Community Creative Space is free to visit during branch opening hours.
