Community Creative Space Showcases the Vibrant Work of Whitsunday Artist Gemma Louise Pap

Creative Connections Whitsundays is delighted to present a new exhibition by Gemma Louise Pap in the Bendigo Community Bank Cannonvale–Proserpine Community Creative Space.

Gemma has been a finalist in every Great Barrier Reef Festival Art Exhibition since 2024, and her latest collection continues to showcase the bright, colourful style that has become her signature.

This rotating exhibition program, delivered in partnership with Bendigo Community Bank Cannonvale–Proserpine, features a new Creative Connections Whitsundays artist every six weeks, providing valuable exhibition opportunities for both emerging and established members.

Inspired by the landscapes and native wildlife of North Queensland, Gemma's work celebrates the beauty and character of Australia's unique fauna. Combining expressive acrylic backgrounds with detailed oil painting, her vibrant artworks capture everything from familiar favourites to lesser-known native species in bold, contemporary ways.

Creativity has always been part of Gemma's life. Growing up in a home filled with artwork created by her mother, a commercial artist, she was encouraged to draw and paint from an early age. Today, as a full-time artist, she is passionate about making art accessible through original paintings, prints and Australian-made gifts.

Visitors can also discover more of Gemma's work at the Creative Connections Whitsundays Community Gallery, 192 Main Street, Proserpine.

All artworks in the Community Creative Space are available for purchase through a simple self-service process, giving visitors the opportunity to directly support local artists.

The exhibition is free to visit during Bendigo Community Bank Cannonvale–Proserpine branch opening hours, with everyone welcome to drop in and enjoy another outstanding showcase of Whitsunday creativity.
