Creative Connections Whitsunday Plans for the Future

In October 2025, Creative Connections Whitsundays (CCW) brought together a vibrant group of members for a planning workshop, sparking lively discussions about the organisation’s direction for the coming years. Members shared their ideas, experiences, and perspectives, helping to shape CCW’s priorities and future initiatives.
For those unable to attend, we invited members to contribute via a short online survey, which explored the value of membership, feedback on activities, and suggestions for future growth. This survey is still available if you would like to participate
The feedback from both the workshop and survey will play a key role in guiding the Management Committee as it develops operational plans, events, and member programs.
Members highlighted what CCW is known for today, including high-quality exhibitions, engaging workshops, and participation in regional events such as the Great Barrier Reef Festival and Proserpine Rock Wallaby Festival. There was also strong appreciation for the organisation’s establishment of the Proserpine Gallery and public art initiatives, support of local artists, commitment to community engagement, and well-managed operations.
Looking to the future, members expressed a desire for CCW to keep encouraging and empowering visual artists, while also advocating for and promoting all art forms, and fostering a supportive, community-focused environment.
Members also discussed ways to enhance advocacy, membership benefits, events, education programs, and networks. Ideas ranged from mentoring programs, artist residencies, and professional development workshops, to partnerships with local schools, galleries, and businesses.
